More Fun Valentines for Students!

Happy Saturday, friends! I am completely procrastinating on some other work I need to finish up, but it seemed like a great time to wrap up Em's valentines for her class. She picked out a box of Descendants valentines, but I always like to make a fun, small valentine for her to give her friends, too.

Emoji: This is the valentine I made last year, and Em just loved it! In fact, when she saw me pull it up, she asked for this to be her valentine again. Hey...what can a busy mom say? Of course! We found the glasses at Target in a package of 16 for $3. I wasn't too crazy about the colors of the sunglasses, but Em didn't mind. I attached the sunglasses using a little glue dot in the center. You can download a free copy of the template HERE. Since it's in Powerpoint, you can add a text box to personalize it, too!

Heart: This was the version I made 2 years ago, and it's still pretty cute, in my opinion! I printed out a few for Em to give to her neighborhood friends. You can down a free copy of this template HERE. Like the emoji one, you can add a text box in Powerpoint to personalize it. Love it!

Pizza: You can check a post back by clicking HERE to see these adorable pizza valentines I will be reusing this year, since I was lucky enough to fund the erasers again this year!

Okay, okay...I need to do the REAL work now, so I hope you all have a great weekend!

Easy Valentine's Gift for Students

I know, I know...it's still December. But, in my defense, I have to get things done when I get time, and the time is now. I go back to school on January 2nd, and my master's program picks back up on January 4th, so there is no time like now get ahead wherever I can.

And that means...on to Valentine's Day!

I made these fun valentines for my class year, and I was able to find the exact same pizza slice erasers in the Target Dollar Spot a few weeks ago. So...why redo what was already super cute??? I will probably attach the erasers using glue dots like I did last year.

You can grab a copy of the tag HERE. It is an editable Powerpoint, so you can add a text box for your name if you like.

Here's to a new year of getting things done and not procrastinating!

Currently-February!

What better is there to do on a snow day than link up with Farley for her monthly Currently? It's been a few months, and I've missed the fun. So...here we go!

Listening: My 3 kiddos (plus one friend), have been tromping up and down the stairs all morning. I think they might be having a little cabin fever, and it's starting to drive me a little nuts! We might have one more day of this ahead of us based on the 3-4 feet of snow drifts that are surrounding the entire neighborhood. Yikes!

Loving: The valentines I made for my daughter's class turned out too cute! I used heart-shaped glasses from Target. They were a pack of 12 for $3. I wrote a blog post about the HERE. You can download an editable copy of the valentine to use!

Thinking: I procrastinated on all my work this weekend anticipating at least one snow day. Then one turned into two at about 7pm last night, so that allowed me to procrastinate even more! And lookie at what I'm doing now...procrastinating more by blogging!

Wanting: I really, really want to finish my Snow Day School pack. I started it in December when we had a snow day, thinking it would be a great resource for families on snow days. And...we're going to be out of snow days if I don't finish it soon!

Needing: I'm taking part in a SUPER giveaway with some other fabulous bloggers to celebrate the Broncos' Super Bowl appearance. We have some great prizes including Sit Spots gift certificates, pencil sharpeners from Classroom Friendly Supplies, and Tieks gift card, and MORE. It's definitely going to be SUPER!!!

Swooning: I am in LOVE with my new glasses. My contacts were just killing my eyes, so I gave in and bought some new glasses. Can you say SWOON??? My BTF said I was channeling my inner Amy Harris...which I will take as a BIG compliment!

Make sure you head over to Farley's blog to join the link up! Click the button below!
Oh Boy It's Farley

Well, I'm off to be productive. Maybe!

Valentine, I've got my eyes on you!

Happy Saturday, friends! I spent the morning at swimming lessons with my little, had lunch with my bestest teaching friend in the entire world, and then picked up my grocery order on the way. Have a I mentioned how grateful I am for Walmart's online grocery ordering and pickup? Such a time-saver! We are supposed to get some serious snow (finally!) here in Colorado Springs, so we had to make sure and get our milk and bread!

After I got home, I decided to go ahead and make up my 3-year old's valentines for her pre-k class. I found these adorable heart-shaped sunglasses at Target about a month ago. It was a pack of 12 for $3. I just knew I could think of something fun to do with them!

Aren't they just the cutest??? They came in blue, pink, yellow, and red. Another reason I liked them is because I didn't have to worry about allergies! (Oh! And they were easily attached to the card stock with washi tape.)

I made the valentine itself in Powerpoint. The chevron border was made just by inserting a shape (chevron), copying and pasting it a few times, matching the color to the heart using the color dropper, and then aligning it horizontally. Trust me...it's really easy!

The large font is KG Summer Sunshine, and the smaller font is KG Thinking Out Loud. I matched the fonts using the font pairing guide on Kimberly Geswein's blog. It's such a helpful tool! The adorable heart was part of a free clip art set called Scrappy Hearts from Graphics from the Pond on Teachers Pay Teacher. You can download it for free by clicking on the image below!

And how about the final product??? I am in love with it! I just know the other kiddos will have some serious fun with these little sunglasses!

You can download a copy of the valentine off of my Google Drive by clicking HERE. I also added an editable version HERE. That way, you can add your own name! Hope you enjoy it! Have a great weekend!
